The BT dongle wouldn’t work because windows cannot find a driver. As soon as you can control the dongle via serial you’re still not there, you’ll need a bluetooth software stack. I have searched the CSR 4b114 but I could not find any related software. Anyway, the keyword for these chips is BCSP, bluecore serial protocol.

So recently I have bluehooth trying various things to get Bluetooth to work. Then, see if they have lead out the serial port through test pads.

This is usually the case because the serial port is used for testing in the factory.

No rs pads were visible but there was a big warranty sticker ;- Scratching it didn’t really give that much pleasure cause the warranty ended but still ;- 5 pads where there, shining to me. Did this solve your problem? This may be a bit fidgety, and I certainly haven’t done it, but in principle you should be able to control the chip from an Arduino.

I see that it has some UART pins.

It’ll therefore take some jumper wires to connect but no big deal really. Thanks for all the info – did you already work on BT before?
